1)US NAVY WELCOMED FIRST BLACK FEMALE PILOT;



  • The US navy has welcomed its first black female Tactical Aircraft Pilot. 
  • Lt.j. g. Medeline swegle had completed Naval flight school and would later in july 2020 receive the flight officer insignia known as the "Wings of Gold". 

Did You Know? 

        Swegle's milestone comes more than 45 years after Rosemary mariner in 1974 become the first women to fly a tautical fighter jet. 

2)RAJASTHAN LAUNCHED A CAMPAIGN ;



  • A campaign had been launched by Rajasthan to ensure the purity of milk and its products. 
  • Samples of milk and dairy products will be collected under the campaign "Pure for Sure"from july 8-14, 2020.

        Informations related to the samples will be provided by the food safety officers on the FSSAI app. 

3)INDIA RANKED EIGHTH IN EIU REPORT;



  • According to a new report, India has been ranked eighth for cancer preparedness among 10 Asia-Pacific countries. 
  • EIU report on "Cancer preparedness in Asia-Pacific :progress towards universal cancer control ", examines the findings from the EIU's index of cancer preparedness. 


4)ISRO TO LAUNCH BRAZIL'S SATELLITE ON PSLV;


  • ISRO is gearing up to lift off Brazil's Amazon-1 satellite on August 2020 onboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. 
  • The launch of Brazilian satellite is confirmed, but there is no clarity about the date for the planned launch. 

Did You Know? 

        Amazon-1 will be the first satellite for earth observation that is designed and tested in Brazil. 

5)INDIAN BATTALION WON UNIFIL ENVIRONMENT AWARD;


  • An Indian battalion stationed with the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL)has won an environment award. 
  • It has been awarded for a project that aims to decrease waste generation, reuse plastic, build green houses, and compost pits. 

Did You Know? 

        UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Stefano Del Col gave the awards to seven mission entities. 

6)WHO LAUNCHED AN INDEPENDENT REVIEW;


  • WHO has announced an independent review of the international response to the COVID -19 pandemic. 
  • Former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, a Nobel Prize winner and Helen Clark, former PM of New Zealand, will lead the review. 


7)AVERAGE GLOBAL TEMPERATURE COULD RISE BY 15°C;


  • Atleast one or more months during the next five years will be 1.5 degrees celsius warmer than pre-industrial levels. 
  • This was warmed by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). 


8)INDIAN NAVY COMPLETED OPERATION SAMUDRA SETU;



  • Operation Samudra Setu, which was launched on may 5, 2020 has culminated after successfully bringing 3, 992 Indian citizens back to their homeland by sea.
  • Indian Naval ships Jalashwaband Airvat, Shardul and Magar participated in this operation which lasted over 55 days.

1)IRDAI FORMED A PANEL;


  • The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India has formed a working group to examine the feasibility of 'Pandemic Risk Pool '. 
  • Suresh mathur, Executive Director of IRDAI, will be the chairman for the 9 member working group with the industry representatives as member. 
  • A part from studying the need for such pool, the group will be recommend the structure and operating model.

2) DR. HARSH VARDHAN RELEASED A WHITE PAPER;


  • Science and Technology Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan released a white paper on "Focused Interventions for 'Make in India':pest COVID-19 "and active pharmaceutical ingredients status, issues, technology rediness, and challenges. 
  • The white paper highlighted five sector.

3)WORLD POPULATION DAY :JULY 11;

  • Australia has suspended its extradition treaty with Hongkong in response to fears over a new national security law imposed by china.

  • India's squash star Joshna Chinappa has broken back into the top 10 of the PSA world rankings following the retirement of Egyptian world number one Raneem El Welily. 
  • Joshna, who has not played since march 3020 due to COVID-19 pandemic, moved up a spot to be in the 10th position

  • Sports ministry had asked Ahmed to step down having declared that his 2018 election was a violation of the national sports code's tenure guidelines.

1)IITH, NVIDIA TO ESTABLISH A RESEARCH CENTRE;


  • IIT Hyderabad is collaborating with NVIDIA, to establish India's first NVIDIA AI technology centre to accelerate research on artificial intelligence and commercial adoption. 
  • An event held on july 9, 2020 to mark the commencement of operations of this centre. 


2)YPTHIMA WATSONI BUTTERFLY REDISCOVERED ;


  • In Tripura, a team of wildlife researchers has rediscovered "Ypthima Watsoni" butterfly commonly known as 'Looped three -ring' after 61 years. 
  • It was founded near a village called phuldungsei in Jampui hills under the North Tripura district.

        The species was last seen in 1958 in manipur. 


3)750MV SOLAR PROJECT AT MP's REWA;


  • PM Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation a 750 mv solar project set up at Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. 
  • The Rewa project will reduce carbon emission equivalent to about 15 lakh ton of CO2 per year.

        The project was situate inside a solar park, the solar park was developed by the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited. 


4)15th MEETING OF INDIA-EU SUMMIT ON JULY15;

5)INDIA'S LARGEST BUTTERFLY ;


  • A Himalayan butterfly named "Golden Birdwing" is the India's  largest. 
  • This record was earlier held by southern birdwing for 88 years. 
  • With a wingspan of 194mm, the female of the species is marginally larger than the southern birdwing that Brigadier William Harry Evans, a british military officer recorded in 1932.

6)CIDC INITIATED SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME;


  • Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) has initiated a skill development programme in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. 
  • It will provide Employment oriented training and skill development for the marginalized section. 

7)NEW SPECIES OF FAN-THROATED LIZARD DISCOVERED ;


  • A new species of Fan -throated lizard has been discovered from the barren lands of northern Karnataka's Bagalkot district. 
  • The new species has been named 'Sitana dharwarensis' derived from the Dharwar Carton a piece of earth crust. 

8)GLOBAL REAL ESTATE TRANSPARENCY INDEX 2020;


  • India's real estate industry gas registered one of the largest improvements globally and regionally in Jones Lang Lasalle's (JLL)biennial Global Real Estate Transparency Index(GRETI). 
  • The position of some Asian countries are Mainland China(32nd), Thailand(33rd), Indonesia (40th), Philippines (44th), and Vietnam(58th).

  • The ministry of corporate affairs has extended the term of justice Bansi Lal Bhat as acting chair person of NCLAT by 3 months. 
  • The extension was applicable from june 15, 2020, the other side or until a regular chairperson was appointed.

2)BANGLADESH LAUNCHED "DIGITAL HAAT";

3)US FORMALLY ANNOUNCED ITS WITHDRAWAL FROM WHO;


  • The Trump administration has formally notified the United Nations of its decision to withdraw US from WHO. 
  • It has broken off the ties with the global health body amidst the raging corona virus pandemic. 
  • The US has also accused WHO of siding with china on the out break of corona virus, which is originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan in late 2019.

  • The first cricket match of three test series between England and West Indies was played on 8 july 2020 at Ageas Bowl, London.

  • The new administrative and academic building of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Jharkhand has been named after Bharatiya Jan Singh founder shyma prasad mukherjee on his birth anniversary. 
  • Mukherjee dedicated his life to the unity and integrity of the country.

  • Quinton de kock was named men's cricketer of the year at the cricket south africa annual awards, his second honour after 2017.

2)INDIA'S FIRST NPNT COMLIANT DRONE FLIGHT;



  • India's first NPNT compliant drone flight on the A200 Remotely Piloted Aircraft System(RPAS)has been sucessfully completed. 
  • The flight was carried out in a green zone identified by the DGCA, near Tumkur in Karnataka, and marks a critical break through in online testing and permission systems.

  • The National Payment Corporation of India will develop its smart data centre in hyderabad at an investment of RS. 500 crore.

6)ZOYA KHAN- FIRST TRANSGENDER OPERATOR OF CSC;


  • Zoya khan from vadodara district of Gujarat become the first transgender operator of the Common Service Centre in India. 
  • She aims to uplift the transgender community by making them digitally literate.
