• Wholesale Inflation eases to 4.53% In August
  • The Central Statistics Office (CSO) presented India’s Wholesale Price Index (WPI) Inflation for the month of August 2018.
  • WPI stood at 4.53% compared to 5.09% of July 2018.

  

  • Wholesale or headline inflation, however, quickened on an annual basis, from 3.24% in August 2017.

  Appointments

• Advani appointed as Chairman Of ethics panel
  • L K Advani has been renominated as the chairman of the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
  • The committee examines complaints relating to unethical conduct by members of Parliament.

• G-20 meet in Argentina on 14th September
  • G-20 trade and investment ministerial meeting is being held in Argentina on 14th September 2018.

  

  • Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu will participate in this meeting at Mar del Plata in Argentina.
  • The G20 members include India, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, EU, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, UK and the US.
