1)INDIA & BHUTAN SIGN PACT FOR FIRST JOINT VENTURE HYDROPOWER PROJECT;

  • India and Bhutan took a major step forward for the construction of 600 MW Kholongchhu project, their first hydropower joint venture project. 
  • The 600MW kholongchhu project is one of four additional projects agreed in 2008.
Did You Know?  
       The agreement was signed through video conference by External Affairs Minister  s. Jaishankar in Delhi, and Bhutan's foreign Minister Tandi Dorji and Economic Affairs Minister  Loknath sharma in Thimpu. 


2)49th GOVERNING COUNCIL MEETING OF NPC;

  • Union Railways and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal chaired the 49th Governing council meeting of NPC via video conference. 
  • He suggested that adoption of technology and digital economy is going to play vital role is not only transforming the business but also in achieving the target of a 5 trillion dollars economy.

3)MINISTRY OF CULTURE CELEBRATE "SANKALP PARVA";


  • The Ministry of Culture has decided to  celebrate Sankalp Parva and plant trees from 28 june to 12 july. 
  • It has recommended the people to plant 5 trees which have been identified by PM and represent the herbal heritage of our country.
Did You Know? 
        The 5 trees are Bargad, Awla, Peepal, Ashok,and Bel. 

4)UN HONOURS KERALA HEALTH MINISTER K.K.SHAILAJA;


  • Kerala Health Minister K.K.Shailaja was honoured by UN on june 24, 2020.
  • She was honoured for her efforts to fight against the COVID pandemic in her state. 
  • She was the only speaker from the country to speak on the strategies adopted  by kerala to curb COVID-19 transmission. 


5)NATIONAL STATISTICS DAY -29 JUNE;


  • National Statistics Day was celebrated on june 29 every year.
  • The theme of the day for  2020 is Sustainable Development Goals -3(Ensure healthy lives and promote well being for ages) and Sustainable Development Goals -5(Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls).

        The date has been choosen as a rememberence of  the birth anniversary of Professor. P C. Mahalanobis.


6)15th FINANCE COMMISSION HELD VIRTUAL MEETINGS;


  • The 15th Finance Commission held virtual meetings with its Advisory Council and discussed various issues confronting the commission now.
  • The meeting was chaired by 15th finance commission chairman N.K.Singh.


7)SOLV PARTNERED WITH STANDARD CHARTERED BANK;


  • SOLV has launched a credit card tailor-made for the MSME Segment, in partnership with Standard  Chartered Bank, India. 
  • SOLV platform will help small business trade goods with each other and expand their customer base across India.

8)FULLY AUTOMATED LIQUID OXYGEN TANK;

  •  The Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research   center of Ahmadabad has commissioned  a fully automated liquid oxygen tank on its premises. 
  • The institute started releasing uninterrupted oxygen supply in hospital wards from a 10, 000 litre capacity tank.
