1)36th ASEAN SUMMIT HELD IN VIETNAM;

• The 36th biannual ASEAN summit was held via video conference on 26 june in Hanoi, Vietnam. 
• It was held under the chairman ship of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. 

Did You Know? 
        The theme was "Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN". 

2)POPSTAR BEYONCE HONOURED WITH AN AWARD;

• The 20th Annual Bet Awards took place on 28 june 2020.
• BET Awards honoured Beyonce with the 2020 Humanitarian Award for her Philanthropy and Passion for Social Justice. 

3)"NADA APP" LAUNCHED FOR ATHLETES ;

• National Anti-Doping Agency 's first mobile app has launched by sports minister Kiren Rijiju. 
• It will provide information about prohibited substances and their inadverent use which may affect the carreer of athletes. 
• The app aims to create a bridge between athelets and Nada by providing easily acessible information on various aspects of sport. 

4)GUDNI TH. JOHANNESSON:PRESIDENT OF ICELAND ;

• Incumbent president of iceland Gudni Th. Johannesson won his second four year term in the presidential election. 
• Johannesson was re-elected with 92%of popular vote, the second largest win in Icelandic Presidential Election. 

5)AMENDMENTS IN INDIAN STAMP ACT, 1899;

•  Amendments in Indian Stamp Act, 1899, brought through Finance Act 2019 and rules made thereunder will come into effect from july 1.
• It will enable states to collect stamp duty on secularities market instruments at one place by one agency through one instrument.

        This system will help to develop equity market and equity culture across the country. 

6)NATIONAL CHARTED ACCOUNTANTS DAY:1 JULY;

• National Charted Accountants Day was celebrated on july 1 every year. 
• The day commemorates the finding of the Institute of Charted Accountants of India (ICAI) by the Parliament of India in 1949.

Did You Know? 
        ICAI is India's national professional accounting body and second biggest accounting organization in the world. 

7)NATIONAL DOCTORS DAY:July 1;

• India celebrates National Doctors Day on july 1 every year.
• The National Doctors Day was celebrated as a memory of Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy,  a former Chief Minister of West Bengal, as well as a Physician. 

Did You Know? 
        Dr.Roy was honoured with Bharat Ratna on feb 4, 1961.


8)NITIN MENON INDUCTED IN ICC ELITE PANEL;

• India's Nitin Menon has been included in tbe International Cricket Council (ICC) Elite Panel of umpires for the upcoming 2020-2021 season. 
• Menon replaced England's Nigel Liong. 

9)INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PARLIAMENTARISM -30 JUNE;

• International Day of Parliamentarism is observed on 30 june every year. 
• The UN General Assembly, in its resolution A/RES/72/278, designated 30june as the day to celebrate International Day of Parliamentarism in 2018.
• The date  also mark the day on 1889, when the IPU, the Global Organization of Parliament was established.

10)INDIA's FIRST LICHEN PARK IN UTTARKHAND;

• Uttarkhand forest department has developed India's first lichen park in Kumaon's Munsiyari, Pithoragargh District. 
• Lichens are found in the Himalayas up to 5000 metres and are important species as they are the best bio indicators of the pollution levels.

        Jurassic -era lichen species are used in food, perfumes, dyes, and traditional medicines.
